U.S. to curb legal immigration by half: re-vamp H-1Bs: cut Green Cards
U.S. President Donald Trump, with two Republican Senators, is seriously contemplating to slash legal immigration, proposes to cut permanent residency – better known as green cards, and overhaul the H-1B visa awarding system used by US firms to hire high-skilled foreign workers. The elimination of the diversity visa lottery, a program that gives visas to countries with low rates of immigration to the United States, is also on the table.
