Annual Report (2017/18)
It is with great honor we undertook the responsibility of establishing Sri Lanka America Association of Las Vegas with the goal of creating a voice for our community and organization of service to each other. We are happy to note that we mobilized and engaged every part of our community, reached out to other Asian and American communities and communities and groups beyond Las Vegas. We conducted successfully initiated and completed twelve projects in the twelve-month term and are extremely thankful for the guidance and support we received from our advisors Most Ven. Alavala Subuthi Thero & Most Rev. Fr. Bede Wevita, the director board & executive committee, and the community in general in executing the projects. The fellowship and support extended by various Asian-American associations in Las Vegas, Sri Lanka America Association of Southern California, and Sri Lanka Association of Washington DC is noted with gratitude.

In addition to the twelve projects, we are proud to have established a mechanism to offer routine services our community needs. Scholarship program for college students, Consular services, internship opportunities, fundraisers for deceased and those critically ill and free legal services are some of them. The website we launched (slaalv.com) has become a place to find important information, advertise services for free, list or find merchandise for sale or free, seek language help, etc.…
We are delighted to have conducted all the activities in a fair and transparent manner. We profusely thank our corporate sponsor HALO Attorneys and all other advertisers and donors and urge every stakeholder of SLAALV to review annual financials in the attached Treasurer’s report.
We wish President Elect Mr. Gihan Perera and the new committee every success in the coming year in carrying the voice of our community forward.
Thank You,
Yours Faithfully,
